  • Safety

At Villainy Dance Studio, safety is our top priority:

We perform formal documented equipment safety checks every six months, and visual inspections weekly. We conduct regular maintenance and infrastructure improvements. Our dance poles are competition grade stainless steel X-Poles and our aerial equipment is certified and /or professionally built by industry experts that has been installed and tested by trained professionals.

Our staff are CPR and first aid certified, use crash mats and trained spotting techniques, and display safety procedure posters throughout the studio. We also ensure first aid kits are readily available.

We encourage sustainable practices for learning dance fitness, provide modifications to moves upon student request, and mandate warm-ups and cool-downs for all classes.

Additionally, we have fire extinguishers on-site and offer continued training for our staff to maintain the highest safety standards.

  • Accessibility

At Villainy Dance Studio, accessibility is a core value. We encourage judgment-free expression and, while not politically focused, we expect acceptance and inclusivity from all.

The studio is all on one level and our entrance has two stairs. We offer a temporary ramp for students who use wheelchairs or assisted entrance upon request.

We provide a private, gender-neutral ADA sized bathroom in our suite (no transfer bar), along with two other multi-stall, gendered shared public bathrooms. We also provide 2 fully enclosed dressing rooms.

Our studio has both a free parking lot and free street parking. We are conveniently located on a metro transit bus line with a bike rack onsite.

We proudly identify as an LGBTQIA+ and womxn-owned and operated studio. Our diverse staff includes individuals of various neurodiversities, body types, gender identities, ages, and ethnic backgrounds, welcoming folx without judgment. Our staff always strive to use proper pronouns and given names when addressing students, and require fellow students to respect given names and pronouns as well.

While maintaining safety standards for a given activity, we make no judgments on what strength or ability looks like. We therefore only offer modifications if requested by a student, and if asked make every effort to assist in differently abled students participation in as many activities as possible.

We have a greatly varied student body so self regulation is paramount, as such we provide places to sit to rest during or while waiting for classes, and have welcomed folx of all body types and and abilities too Be Bad at their own pace.
